The HUGE expanse of glass on the Samsung Galaxy Note just cries for PROTECTION.
Samsung's own flip cover mounts on the phone in place of the back cover, and protects the screen with a rigid wrap-around front cover, coated with a leatherette finish.
One cute design trick is that the back side of this case is slightly thicker and tougher than the phone back cover it replaces. This means that the camera lens on the back of the phone is recessed and protected.
Nutshell summary: With the cover in place, your phone looks like a small black paper notepad, and it's well protected.
